Before you apply, please take the time to read this whole page. It matters.

About the Role

At A Hand To Help, professional organising isn’t just about decluttering – it’s about making a real difference in people’s lives.
We’re looking for a compassionate, practical, and thoughtful Professional Organiser to join our team.

You’ll work alongside clients who are navigating all kinds of life situations – helping them sort, organise, and reclaim their homes as safe, supportive places to live.

You’ll need to bring a calm presence, zero judgment, and a practical mindset. You’ll often work solo, but you’ll always be supported by a team that has your back.

This work is hands-on. It’s real. It changes lives – and it’s incredibly rewarding.

About Us

A Hand To Help is a Melbourne-based professional organising company supporting people through times of change, challenge, and transition.

We believe in creating space for what truly matters – dignity, safety, independence, and comfort.

Our values guide everything we do:

  • Compassion without judgment
  • Trust, honesty, and integrity
  • Practicality with heart
  • Resilience through challenge
  • Team over ego

What You’ll Do

  • Support clients to declutter and organise their homes with sensitivity and care
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with clients
  • Maintain a safe, respectful, and non-judgmental working environment
  • Work independently in client homes, often supporting people with complex needs
  • Collaborate with our team when needed to share ideas, solve challenges, and celebrate successes

What We’re Looking For

Must-Haves

✔️ A natural ability to organise spaces thoughtfully and practically

✔️Physically capable of lifting, moving items, and being on their feet for extended periods
✔️ Available for a minimum of 3 weekdays per week (with 3–4 days preferred)

✔️ Comfortable working in a variety of home environments
✔️ Genuine compassion and a non-judgmental approach
✔️ Strong service ethic and relationship-building skills
✔️ Emotional resilience and calmness under pressure
✔️ Flexibility, openness to feedback, and a willingness to learn
✔️ Clear communication and a collaborative mindset
✔️ A valid driver’s licence and reliable car

Nice-to-Haves (but not essential)
✔️ Experience as a professional organiser
✔️ Background supporting clients with complex needs (hoarding, aged care, disability support)
✔️ Experience in fields like disability support, aged care, or interior design
✔️ Formal qualifications in professional organising

This Role Isn’t for Everyone

This role won’t be the right fit if:

  • You find it difficult to stay patient, respectful, and non-judgmental
  • You struggle to adapt to different people, homes, and situations
  • You prefer working completely independently without collaboration
  • You dislike practical, hands-on work
  • You don’t have strong attention to detail
  • You prefer to do things “your way” rather than following proven processes
  • You have health conditions that make manual work unsafe

What We Offer

  • Meaningful work that makes a real human impact
  • Supportive, down-to-earth team culture
  • Ongoing training, support, and professional development
  • Flexible scheduling
  • Competitive pay and mileage reimbursement
  • A chance to be part of something genuinely important

This is a casual, on-site role working across homes in Melbourne.
